All of that, however, was forgotten on Wednesday as the Wolverines, the Daily News' top-ranked team, asserted their case for area supremacy with an impressive 12-8 victory over visiting No. 2 La Canada. ``This was a great game for us to play because (La Canada) is a top-notch club,'' said first-year Harvard-Westlake coach Larry Felix, who earned his first victory since taking over the program from longtime coach Rich Corso this summer. Harvard-Westlake was led by senior driver Justin Rappel, who scored four goals, and senior Alex Okano, who had three goals and an assist off the bench. La Canada (4-2), which came into the match on a roll after defeating two-time defending Southern Section Div. III champion Montebello last week, led for most of the first two quarters. Senior Jordan Thompson scored two first period goals off assists from Devon Borisoff, who had four assists in the game. The Wolverines responded well though, tying the match 4-4 with 1:52 remaining in the half on Rappel's goal off a pass from Brian Flacks and opening up a 6-4 lead by half on goals from Rappel and Okano.
