Naeve tries to avoid comparing this year's La Canada High boys' water polo water polo, swimming game encompassing features of soccer, football, basketball, and hockey. The object of the game is to maneuver, by head, feet, or hand, a leather-covered ball 27 to 28 in.  team to the version he coached to a Southern Section championship last year. He wants this year's Spartans to form their own identity after graduating three All-Americans.

Junior Max Scott was at the forefront Wednesday, showing that although the names have changed, not much else has for the Spartans, who began the season ranked No.1 in Div.III. Scott scored eight goals in a 15-7 win over No. 2 Montebello at Commerce Aquatorium in a rematch REMATCH Cardiology Clinical trials–Randomized Evaluation of Mechanical Assistance Therapy as an alternative in Congestive Heart failure–related to use of a portable, electric left ventricular-assist system–LVAS–eg, HeartMate®  of last year's division final.

``We really needed this game to make an impression on the rankers Rankers are soils developed over non-calcareous material, usually rock. They are regarded in some soil classifications as lithomorphic soils, a group which also includes rendzinas, similar soils over calcareous material. ,'' Scott said.

Scott put La Canada ahead for good when he pounded a shot off the water and past Montebello goalie Eli Bonilla with 2:23 remaining in the second quarter. The lead was the first of the afternoon for the Spartans, who were tied 3-3 at the end of the first quarter and ended the half leading by two.

Scott, who can't recall ever having scored more than three goals in a high school game, provided two goals each quarter. Caleb Greig contributed three goals, Mike Scott added two, and Devon Devon (dĕv`ən), county (1991 pop. 1,008,300), 2,591 sq mi (6,711 sq km), SW England. The county town is Exeter. The defense that is expected to be the strength of this year's Spartans limited Montebello (4-2) to one score in each of the final two periods.

``They've worked hard and I really feel good for them,'' Naeve said of his team. ``If they hadn't won it would have been bad for them, not just because of the loss, but the comparisons to last year.''
