BOYS' TENNIS: IT'S BEEN A BANNER RUN FOR VIEWPOINT TENNIS TEAM SEEKING FOURTH STRAIGHT TITLE.

Byline: ERIK BOAL

Special to the Daily News

Patrick Moyal has seldom enjoyed a free afternoon the past few weeks.

the athletic director Athletic director (commonly, "athletics director") is a position at many American colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, which oversees the work of the coaches and related staff involved in intercollegiate or interscholastic athletic  at Viewpoint High of Calabasas.

Fortunately for Moyal, he hasn't has·n't

had to make too many road trips. But certain journeys, like the one he made Saturday to Cerritos College Cerritos College is a public comprehensive community college founded in 1955 located in Norwalk, California. It was named after Rancho Los Cerritos, a ranch that served prominently in the region in the 19th century.  or the one he'll take today to Claremont Club, never get old.

Viewpoint captured its third consecutive Southern Section Div. V boys' volleyball volleyball, outdoor or indoor ball and net game played on a level court. An upright net, 3 ft (or 1 m) high, the top of which stands 8 ft (2.43 m) from the ground for men, 7 ft 4 1/8 in (2.  title Saturday, advanced to its first Div.VII baseball final with a victory Tuesday at Southlands Christian in Walnut walnut, common name for some members of the Juglandaceae, a family of chiefly deciduous, resinous trees characterized by large and aromatic compound leaves. Species of the walnut family are indigenous mostly to the north temperate zone, but also range from Central  and will play for its fourth straight boys' tennis crown in the Div.IV final at 2 p.m. today in Claremont.

"I've been busy," Moyal said. "But I wouldn't trade it in for anything."

With its recent run of success, Viewpoint has not only established itself as an athletic equal to its neighbor, Calabasas High, but has made a name for itself among the ranks of the area's elite private schools.

"It's not a school founded first and foremost on athletics athletics

Variety of sport competitions held on a running track and on the adjacent field. It is the oldest form of organized sports, having been a part of the ancient Olympic Games from c.
," Moyal said. "But we've built ourselves quite a reputation."

Although Tom Kubler won a state cross country crown in 1999 and the Patriots' baseball and boys' swim teams captured academic team titles, Viewpoint waited 35 years to hang the first Southern Section team championship banner in its gym.

Since the boys' tennis team captured the Div. V title in 2004, Viewpoint hasn't slowed down, highlighted by 10 league championships in 16 varsity sports this school year, including all seven in the spring.

The Patriots baseball team is the fourth to compete in a division final, including boys' soccer. The girls' volleyball team advanced to the semifinals and boys' basketball and girls' soccer reached the quarterfinals.

"It's been a great feeling around here the past few years," Moyal said. "And the kids really know it too. They live for every one of those moments."

After watching fellow seniors Julian Nagendran and Matt Talamantes capture a third volleyball title Saturday, tennis standout Troy List will look to conclude his brilliant career with a fourth championship ring today.

"It seems like every sport has stepped up to a new level," the Lehigh-bound List said. "A lot of people come to the school for the academic reputation it has, but we've shown you can still get a solid diploma DIPLOMA.  while combining academics with sports.

"Hopefully we can be known as much for the banners we've put up in the gym as the trophies we've won in math competitions."

With the addition of junior Jake JAKE Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment  Brougham, a transfer from Marin Catholic of Kentfield, and the success of Brandon Mischel and Jordan Parzick in doubles, the boys' tennis team that started it all is looking to hang a seventh banner with a victory today against Cerritos (23-1).

"(Setting records or making history) really isn't our primary objective. Our focus has always been on winning our next match," said Viewpoint tennis coach Asif Azhar, whose team (22-2) enters the final with a 19-match winning streak Noun 1. winning streak - a streak of wins
streak, run - an unbroken series of events; "had a streak of bad luck"; "Nicklaus had a run of birdies"
. "If we do win, then other things may fall into place. I'm just proud of my players for being able to keep that level of consistency."

And so is Moyal.
