Granada Hills, last year's City runner-up, passed its first test in convincing fashion. Eric Lee won the singles title, and Vinnie Amor and Jeremy Choo outlasted teammates Zach Katz Katz , Bernard 1911-2003.

and Dominic Plata in the doubles final to lead the Highlanders to the team championship at Valencia High.

"It was good for them to play a lot of sets to see how they are in terms of their fitness for the City playoffs," Granada Hills coach Simon Robertshaw said. "With our 10, we feel like we've got a shot against anybody because they're all so versatile."

Lee, the defending City singles champion, dropped only four games in his six sets, defeating Camarillo's Connor Karen 6-0, 6-0 in the final.

Amor and Choo, the reigning City doubles champions, surrendered only two games in their first four sets, before Katz and Plata pushed them to a 6-4, 6-4 result in the championship match.

"It was close. We definitely had our chances and took advantage of some and didn't on others, but it was a good effort for me and Dom Dom (dōm), peak, 14,942 ft (4,554 m) high, Valais canton, S Switzerland, in the Mischabelhörner group. It is the highest peak entirely in Switzerland. ," Katz said.

Robertshaw said, "Our goal is for that match to be replayed June 4 at the City (individual) finals."

Valencia's Steven Novak and Kevin Song rebounded from a tough 7-5, 1-6, 10-5 loss to Katz and Plata in the semifinals to defeat Saugus' Mike Bingham and Crll Brown 8-2 in the third-place pro-set.

Their efforts helped the Vikings secure second place in the team competition, ahead of Camarillo Camarillo (kă'mərē`yō), city (1990 pop. 52,303), Ventura co., S Calif.; inc. 1964. It is the center of a fertile farm area where citrus fruits and flowers are grown. .
