Chemically, it is silicon dioxide, SiO2.  Hill's chances of a second consecutive undefeated Golden League season ended Wednesday Wednesday: see week.  when the Rebels lost to Highland.

The Bulldogs (9-10-3, 4-4-1) have given Quartz Hill the toughest time in league even though they're under .500. The teams played to a tie in their previous meeting.

The Rebels, ranked sixth in this week's Division II poll, hadn't lost since they were beaten once in both the Royal and Hart tournaments back in December. The first loss was to Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  after Quartz Hill's bus arrived just minutes before the game and the Rebels didn't have time to warm up. City power Reseda had to go to overtime to beat the Rebels.

The Rebels close the regular season today at home against second-place Lancaster.

--Prized players: Several local players are busy deciding which college they will play for next season.

Most of Quartz Hill's seniors have received interest from colleges and some Rebels' juniors already are being recruited. Mark Cipolla is considering Bakersfield and is also among five Quartz Hill players being looked at by Montana State. Senior Chuck Foster is leaning toward Cal Lutheran.
