BOYS' SOCCER: ROYAL, ECR REACH TOURNAMENT FINAL.

Byline: Aaron Levine Special to the Daily News

There's nothing like good-natured heckling to influence a player's performance.

Throughout Royal of Simi Valley's 2-0 semifinal victory against Dos Pueblos at the Royal boys' soccer tournament Friday, senior Jario Quintero was constantly reminded by a friend in the stands that he'd earn a free dinner if he scored a goal.

Three failed breakway attempts later - with no goals - Quintero won't be treated to dinner. But he and the host Highlanders (11-1-1) will be treated to a championship game against top-seeded El Camino Real El Camino Real (Spanish for The Royal Road or The King's Highway) was the name of a series of pre-automobile highways linking the various New World colonies of Spain:

 of Woodland Hills this afternoon.

``I should've had at least one of them,'' said Quintero, whose wide-open shots in the 36th, 64th and 66th minutes were saved by Chargers goalie Porfereo Rojas. ``I was thinking, 'I got to score to make my friend in the stands be quiet.' ''

Quintero did get an assist, however, when Chris Noah knocked in a Quintero corner kick in the 17th minute to give Royal a 1-0 lead.

--El Camino Real 1, Oxnard 0: Yan Falkinstein scored the lone goal for the Conquistadores (11-0) in a semifinal victory against Oxnard.

Falkinstein dribbled around two defenders and beat goalie Jose Ochoa in the far corner of the net to end a scoring drought in the 59th minute for El Camino, who played without starters Gianni Facio, Zack Greenberg and Tony Sangari. Those three are out of town.
