Cummings scored the deciding goal in last week's regular-season finale, an upset of defending division co-champion Loyola of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , to clinch Clinch, river, c.300 mi (480 km) long, formed by the junction of two forks in SW Va., and flowing generally SW across E Tenn. to the Tennessee River at Kingston.  Crespi's first league title in 20 years.

Cummings put Crespi (19-6-1) ahead for good in the second minute with a corner kick that bent just inside the near post. He added another score four minutes later on a shot from more than 30 years out.

Saugus trailed by one at halftime after Larry Guizar converted a penalty kick.

Crespi's Evan Casey capped the scoring in the 79th minute, scoring on an open goal off a cross from Rick Melger.

Saugus (11-8-5), the third-place representative from the Foothill League, had defeated Crespi 4-0 early in the season, but the Celts were a far different team. Cummings was among the several starters who did not play in the previous matchup.

``We believe we can beat anybody on any given day,'' Kodama said. ``This is a special group of guys.''
