``That early goal really gave us a lot of confidence,'' said Garcia, who has 14 goals this season. ``We've never been this far as a team, so we really wanted to raise our level of play today. This win is really special for us.''

Birmingham (17-2-2), which outshot Franklin 21-7, dominated with superior speed and a superb passing game. Senior forward Rene Alvarenga continually beat Panthers defenders on the left to create many of Birmingham's scoring opportunities.

Alvarenga tapped in a Juan Davila header in the 35th minute, and Marvin Sandoval made it 3-0 in the 61st. Jesus Camacho's 35-yard free kick gave Franklin (16-2-0) some life, but Erik Moran Moran

Birmingham heads into the final a huge underdog. Canoga Park (23-0-0) beat the Patriots 5-0 early in the season.

``That's going to be the biggest game of my life,'' Garcia said. ``Canoga Park is a good team, but we're healthy now, and we're going to give it our best shot.''
