BOYS' ROUNDUP: HARVARD-WESTLAKE TOPPLES OAK PARK IN ATTRITION BATTLE.

Bryce Taylor Bryce Taylor is an American college basketball player at the University of Oregon. The 6'5", 205 pound junior guard is currently averaging 14.6 ppg and 5.1 rpg. High School  and Craig Weinstein helped short-handed Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City get past similarly short-handed Oak Park 66-60 in overtime Friday night in a foul-plagued battle of attrition at Oak Park.

By overtime, there weren't many scorers left on the floor. But Taylor and Weinstein proved enough for the winning Wolverines, who advanced to the Southern Section Division IV-AA boys' basketball semifinals.

Taylor, a 6-foot-4 sophomore forward who finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds, scored on a three-point play in overtime to put Harvard-Westlake ahead 58-55, and the Wolverines never trailed again.

Weinstein, a 6-foot senior guard, followed with a field goal and three free throws to seal the win over the Eagles (21-7). He finished with 16 points and played much of the overtime period Noun 1. overtime period - a period of overtime play to resolve a tie; e.g. basketball

--Loyola 83, Cajon 69 Omar Wilkes scored a team-high 29 points for Loyola of Los Angeles in front of crowd of 1,500 at Loyola High.

Vince Oliver (12 points), Chris Rucker (11 points) and Davis Cantor (11 points) each contributed for the Cubs (24-5), who advance to the semifinals for the first time in 12 years.

The Tartans (27-2) outscored Lancaster 13-9 in the extra period 13-9.

Lancaster (21-8) shocked the area by winning their second consecutive Golden League title. The Eagles weren't even expected to contend for a league championship after graduating 10 seniors but became the first team in the school's history to reach the quarterfinals.
