``It's beyond anything I've ever seen,'' Taft coach Derrick Taylor said. ``Obviously, Jordan is the key to all this. People just want to see him play.''

Especially UCLA fans.

``It's crazy, but they all want to see the future of UCLA basketball,'' said Taylor, who was surprised to discover a family from Bakersfield regularly makes the two-hour trip to Woodland Hills to watch Farmar play.

``They've been season ticket holders at UCLA for 20 years, and they come out to see Jordan play because they've read and heard so much about him.'' Taylor said. ``That's the ultimate sign of respect. To see someone drive that far to watch you play, that's awesome.''

--The switch: Taft was planning to play tonight's game at its home gym, but the huge crowd that showed up Tuesday made school administrators consider finding a bigger venue.

``People were lining up to buy tickets for the game at 4 p.m.,'' Taft athletic director Athletic director (commonly, "athletics director") is a position at many American colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, which oversees the work of the coaches and related staff involved in intercollegiate or interscholastic athletic  Mark Drucker said. ``We had to do something. I'm not sure Pierce will be big enough to accommodate everybody, but it's definitely bigger, so that will help.''

Drucker is urging fans to purchase presale tickets on campus today between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

``The earlier the better,'' Drucker said. ``I just got off the phone with (Etiwanda's) A.D. and he told me they were bringing more than 500 people on presales. It's going to be crazy.''

Tipoff is 7:30 at Harvard-Westlake.

After a 73-64 victory over Centennial in the Southern Section Div. IIIAA championship game and last year's victories in the Southern Section final and state playoffs, it appears Harvard-Westlake has Centennial's number.

The Wolverines just hope it continues.

``The question becomes how many times can you do it, especially considering how good they are,'' Harvard-Westlake coach Greg Hilliard said. ``They know us extremely well, and they've all been extremely close games that come down to a break here and there and momentum and all those things you don't always have control of.''
