The Hart High boys' basketball team has eight players, including four starters, returning next season from a team which won the Foothill League title. But that doesn't mean coach Tom Kelly People named Tom Kelly include:
  • Tom Kelly (baseball) (born 1950), former manager of the American baseball team the Minnesota Twins.
  • Tom Kelly (basketball) (born 1924), played in 27 games for the Boston Celtics in the 1948-49 NBA season.
isn't keeping his eye on anybody new.

Players of the position are often shorter, leaner, and quicker than forwards. ) and Brian Elledge (forward/center) will look to get minutes over the summer and earn a spot on next year's team. Navid Khajavi and Ryan Hughes Ryan Hughes is a 26 year old college drop out who won a World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2007 World Series of Poker in the $2,000 Seven-Card Stud High-Low Split (Eight-or-Better) event. , both of whom will be seniors next season, also are from the junior varsity.

The Indians also have an old player returning in Eric Wilson Eric Wilson can refer to:
  • Eric Wilson (bassist), a member of Sublime
  • Eric Charles Twelves Wilson, a recipient of the Victoria Cross
  • Eric Wilson (suspense writer), an American author
  • Eric Wilson (author), a Canadian author
. Wilson, a forward/center who will be a senior next season, played for the varsity as a freshman and sophomore but didn't play last season so he could concentrate on football.

``Eric played summer-league ball with us last year,'' Kelly said, ``but since he also played football, he decided not to play with us this season. His reasons were that so he could concentrate on lifting weights and getting bigger for football. However, he told me the second he quit the team, he regretted it. We're happy to have him back.''

Though the Indians might be getting new players, their game plan is expected to remain the same. Hart likes to use its quickness, outrunning teams to the hoop for easy baskets.

``We always want to run and push the ball up the court,'' Kelly said. ``We always want to get easy baskets and easy points. We like to read and react, and have guys shooting from all over the floor.''
