BOYS' BASKETBALL: DOWN TO WIRE IN FOOTHILL SAUGUS HOLDS ONE-GAME LEAD.

Byline: Vincent Bonsignore Staff Writer

Chad Chad (chăd, chäd), Fr. Tchad, officially Republic of Chad, republic (2005 est. pop. 9,826,000), 495,752 sq mi (1,284,000 sq km), N central Africa.  Phillips predicted all this.

The Canyon High boys' basketball coach told anyone who cared that the Foothill League was one of the most balanced, that the league championship wouldn't be decided until the final week and that three to four teams would be in contention down to the wire.

Yes, Phillips nailed Nailed are a death metal band from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, UK. They currently have a worldwide distribution deal with UK label Copro/Casket Records. Biography  this one a long time ago.

Yet even he didn't account for everything.

``I wasn't expecting us to have to battle back from behind,'' said Phillips, whose defending league champion Cowboys cowboys, in American history.

are a game behind first-place Saugus and Hart.

Canyon can make up ground tonight in a critical game at Saugus, but it faces a difficult challenge. The Centurions already beat the Cowboys this year and they always pose a formidable threat on their home floor.

``It's been a tough place for us to play over the years,'' Phillips said. ``We'd like to change that.''

They have to to climb back into the race and Saugus coach Ron Hallman knows this as well as anyone. He doesn't put much importance in the fact that the Centurions already beat Canyon once, nor that the rematch REMATCH Cardiology Clinical trials–Randomized Evaluation of Mechanical Assistance Therapy as an alternative in Congestive Heart failure–related to use of a portable, electric left ventricular-assist system–LVAS–eg, HeartMate®  comes in their own gym and with the emotional backing of their home crowd.

It's a time of year when sights and venues matter little, as far as Hallman is concerned.

``We just try to control what we can control and that's putting our best effort out there each time we step on the floor, wherever that happens to be,'' Hallman said. ``As far as home-court advantage and things like that, we can't think about that. We just have to prepare to play the best game we can.''

The Centurions are coming off a tough loss to Valencia on Friday and Canyon routed Burroughs of Burbank 86-50.

Canyon is led by clever point guard Chad Eichten and talented forward Jeremy Haggerty, but it also gets lifts from Richard Ratcliff and John Waite John Waite (born John Charles Waite, 4 July 1952, Lancaster, Lancashire, England) is a rock singer. He is best known as the lead vocalist for the bands The Babys and Bad English, and as a solo artist. .

Saugus has one of the top guards around in Mark Holmquist. Role players Michael Jones Mike or Michael Jones may refer to:

with Canyon's defensive effort in the last meeting, although the Cowboys' performance of late is a sign that they've picked it up in that area. Aside from giving up 60 points in a victory over Valencia, they've held two other opponents in the mid-50s.

``The guys are starting to realize that you win championships by stopping people, that's what we did last year to win the league title and that's what we'll have to do this year,'' Phillips said. ``We've definitely addressed that problem.''
