BOYS' WATER POLO: LAST TRY AT THE MASTERS.

Byline: HEATHER GRIPP Staff Writer

The final weekend of Southern Section boys' water polo water polo, swimming game encompassing features of soccer, football, basketball, and hockey. The object of the game is to maneuver, by head, feet, or hand, a leather-covered ball 27 to 28 in.  will officially be known as the inaugural Masters tournament Masters Tournament

Invitational golf competition held annually since 1934 at the Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Ga., U.S. One of the world's most prestigious golf contests, it comprises 72 holes of stroke play (the player with the lowest score wins).
. For local teams, it is also known as a second chance.

Although area teams failed to claim a Southern Section division title this year, three of those teams get another chance this weekend to play for a championship among the section's elite. La Canada, Agoura and Harvard-Westlake of Studio City earned berths in the event that begins this morning at William Wollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine and features finalists from each of the section's six divisions.

The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday.

Locals have plenty to prove after La Canada and Agoura fell short of titles despite being seeded No. 1 in their respective divisions. La Canada suffered an overtime loss in Monday's Div. III final against Montebello. Agoura and Harvard-Westlake received at-large entries into this weekend's 16-team team tournament after losing in their division semifinals.

``At first, I wasn't that psyched about it,'' La Canada senior Devon Borisoff said. ``Now I'm pumped to get another shot at it.

``We don't have to end our season on a (bad) note. I know my teammates are pumped about it, too. We didn't like it that much at first. We just wanted to win the division and be done with it and get to have a break, but now we have something to prove.''
