I had the opportunity to see him develop and teach basketball skills to the young athletes that were under his guidance. I have seen him not only coach but be there as a friend, teacher and someone his students could go to for any reason. He always made sure they knew how important scholastics were, and school is. He always made time for every single player, no matter what role they had on the team. I cannot imagine future players, students and athletes not getting the opportunity to be coached by this giving and gifted coach. It reached its height of popularity in the United States in the 1970s. Hughes, the facilitator/director of ``Kids in Sobriety.'' Debbie assisted my daughter, Erin, in realizing that her addiction addiction: see drug addiction and drug abuse. is a life-threatening disease - a concept foreign to many teens with drug/alcohol addictions - and that staying clean and sober takes time, willingness and desire. Debbie is honest, open, straightforward and dynamic in her approach with the kids in group, and I believe she is one of the main factors to the success of ``Kids in Sobriety.''
