But a chance to make the final -- and to secure an automatic state-tournament berth -- ended Tuesday with a 76-64 loss to Centennial of Corona at Corona High.

Camarillo (19-10) led by as many as five points in the third quarter but faded down the stretch.

"We just broke down on defense and gave up too many easy baskets," said Danny Rasp (language) RASP - ["RASP - A Language with Operations on Fuzzy Sets", D.D. Djakovic, Comp Langs 13(3):143-148 (1988)]. , who scored 22 points. "We just couldn't convert at the end, but we played them even until the end, when we had to foul."

"We just didn't box out, and we had too many clumsy turnovers," Galloway said.

"Centennial had a good team, though."

Camarillo used its height advantage early on, forging an early eight-point lead on the strength of its inside game, led by Rasp and Galloway.

Rasp scored 14 points in the first half, as Camarillo led 38-34.

Galloway scored eight points in the first four minutes but was forced to sit for most of the second quarter after picking up his second foul.

"They started doubling down in the second half, and there weren't as many open opportunities," Rasp said.

"We kind of had to take what we could get."

Centennial rallied to take a four-point lead midway Midway, island group (2 sq mi/5.2 sq km), central Pacific, c.1,150 mi (1,850 km) NW of Honolulu, comprising Sand and Eastern islands with the surrounding atoll. "It was good year. We played well, and we played hard," Rasp said.

Centennial's Isaac Waters scored 18, and A.J. Chamberlain Chamberlain may refer to:

Camarillo hasn't reached a final since 1972, when the Scorpions won the Southern Section 3A championship.

Centennial last reached a section final in 1989, the same year the school was founded. This has been the most successful season since.
