On June 7 the council will hold a 75-year anniversary dinner in which it will install officers and award five Silver Beavers, the highest award bestowed on volunteers.

During the event the council wants to display memorabilia that shed light on the rich heritage of Boy Scouting in Ventura County.

``We're always looking for ways to enhance that history because it's a very rich history and it involves many prominent people over the years,'' said Bill Belcher, assistant council executive.

``I think there's a lot of memorabilia out there,'' Belcher said. ``Think of our young people today. It's important to them to know the heritage of scouting, particularly here in Ventura County.''
