BOXLIGHT Expands Presentation Market; New Systems Accommodate Every User Profile.

POULSBO, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 1998--Once again, BOXLIGHT Corporation wags the dog, announcing the release of four new presentation systems.

One replaces the 3-gun CRTs that have dominated the large venue market -- at a fraction of the size and price. Another cuts the cord from your PC; with its PCMCIA card See PC Card.  option, presenters can take this projector and leave the laptop at home. A third is a tough little trooper -- an affordable, feature-laden portable that's easy on the pocketbook. And finally, BOXLIGHT introduces its MediaFrame, a gas plasma display (electronics) gas plasma display - A type of display containing super-energised neon gas, used mostly in flat monitor and television screens. Each pixel has a transistor that controls its colour and brightness.

 for high impact visual imagery.

"Spring 1998 marks a turning point for our industry," explains BOXLIGHT founder and president Herb Myers. "Previously, entire groups of the presenting public had been excluded from giving electronic presentations because the industry did not produce systems designed for large group presentations, lightweight and compact enough for the traveling executive, bright enough for distance wall mounting, or affordable enough for schools and the budget constrained."

"Our industry is learning that one size -- or one size range -- does not fit all. We are now poised to meet the diverse needs of the vast presenting public. The presentation industry has truly entered a new era."

WELCOME TO THE HIPPODROME

Signifying a new direction in large venue presentation, the BOXLIGHT 9000 is the powerhouse of presentation products. Until now, the LCD projection industry had been unable to truly meet the needs of users needing auditorium-scale projection capabilities. The 9000 will replace XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  3-gun CRT projectors which are stationary, cumbersome, costly, maintenance intensive, and no longer a viable large-scale projection solution.

-- 1000 ANSI lumens of brightness. This means the BL 9000 offers unprecedented versatility as it can accommodate a full range of presentation needs from training and lectures to full blown conferences.

-- Beats it hands down. At 24 lbs., the BL9000 is a fraction of the weight, size, and price of a 3-gun -- and three times brighter!

Crestron compatible programming makes the 9000 a match for any video, audio, or computer source -- right out of the box, requiring no expensive adjustments.

NO LAPTOP REQUIRED

The BOXLIGHT 3500 is first in a new class of compact, full-featured SVGA (Super VGA) A screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. Third-party vendors extended IBM's VGA display standard and were the first to use the term. SVGA has also referred to 1,024x768 resolutions. MULTIMEDIA FOR NEXT-TO-NOTHING
