It's difficult to stoop lower than the way Mike Tyson Noun 1. Mike Tyson - United States prizefighter who was world heavyweight champion (born in 1966)

Somehow, they managed.

Holyfield made one of his boldest statements Thursday at the final news conference before the bout, saying ``this fight is going to change the world.''

Rory Holloway, Mike Tyson's co-manager, followed with a statement even more vile than that of his partner, John Horne John Horne (1 January 1848 - 30 May 1928) was a Scottish geologist. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1900. He was a pupil of Ben Peach. External links

, who recently referred to rape when describing what would happen to Holyfield in the ring.

Said Holloway: ``He's right. The world's going to change. I just hope he's here Sunday to see it.''

Holyfield reacted to the not-so-subtle reference to death with a smile. His handlers, while accustomed to such remarks, bowed their heads in disgust.

Something new: Tyson did manage to say something nice about Holyfield at the news conference.

After Holyfield said he has been impressed by Tyson's ability, the champion said: ``He's a beautiful fighter. But I'm better.''

Bill of health: A diagnosis of a ``stiff heart'' in 1994 notwithstanding, Holyfield is in good health. Ask the respected Mayo Clinic Mayo Clinic: see Mayo, Charles Horace.

Still, there are doubters, which doesn't faze Holyfield.

``It actually thrills me now,'' said Holyfield, who has been examined several times. ``The doctor always comes out and says, `Damn! I wish I were in the condition you are.' ''

Better than ever? Contrary to popular opinion, Holyfield said he's better now than in 1991, when he was originally supposed to fight Tyson.

``In 1991, I was young, like a kid,'' he said. ``Now, I have more knowledge, more understanding. I'm a stronger person, better able to handle situations.''
