But Castillejo stayed in it. Trainer Danny Smith rated Vargas' performance a five on a scale of one to 10, saying, ``He let the guy touch him with too many punches.'' Castillejo, who had won his previous seven fights, landed 119 of 552 punches, compared to 192 of 479 for Vargas. On the undercard, Humberto Soto (37-5-2, 21 knockouts) won a thrilling unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Rocky Juarez to become the WBC's interim featherweight champion. NBA player Kendall Gill (2-0, one knockout) won his second professional fight, scoring a unanimous decision over Nicaraguan Jason Medina (1-1) in their four-round cruiserweight cruis·er·weight n.
