BOWLS: Clubs get green credentials.


THE outdoor bowling season gets underway next month and clubs are being urged to support a green maintenance information day in Coventry Coventry, city, England

The event, organised by the Coventry branch of the Institute of Groundsmanship, will be staged on Thursday Thursday: see week. , April 19, at the Highway Club, Fletchampstead Highway, Coventry, which has two greens, one flat and one crown.

 Reeves says the organisers are hoping for good support for the information day will offer all sorts of advice on green maintenance and demonstrations of equipment.

Cost of the day-long event is pounds 5, including lunch and coffee, and companies supporting the attraction will include specialists on grass seeds, fertiliers and mowing machines an agricultural machine armed with knives or blades for cutting standing grass, etc. It may be drawn by a horse or horses, or propelled by a powered engine.
