BOWLS: Champ takes early exit.


DEFENDING singles' champion Ted Mitchell went out of the Leamington Spa Open bowls tournament at the first round today.

Mitchell, from Bolton, won his preliminary tie 22-9 against Leamington's Andrew Woodward but came unstuck in his next match, losing 21-13 to M. Rainbow, who then went out at the quarter final stage..

The prestigious event, sponsored by the Evening Telegraph Evening Telegraph may refer to:
