BOUSHY PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR THE PROMUS COMPANIES

 MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Promus Companies Incorporated (NYSE: PRI) today announced that John M. Boushy has been named Senior Vice President Information Technology and Corporate Marketing for Promus.
 As Senior Vice President, Boushy's responsibilities will include an emphasis on implementing hotel information technology strategy as well as development and broadened use of information technology for all of the Company's brands, specifically concentrating on greater use of technology at Harrah's; the strategic (brand) marketing, advertising and communications activities for Harrah's; marketing research for all four brands; the establishment of corporate strategic alliances and quality audit/assurance for all of Promus.
 "The creation of a corporate Senior Vice President level position in Information Technology signifies the important role that information systems play in our company," said Philip G. Satre, president and chief operating officer of Promus. "The strategic link between the gathering, processing and interpreting of information, and the marketing of our businesses makes this job particularly interesting," he added.
 Boushy joined the company in 1979 as manager of data processing at Harrah's Atlantic City. Since that time he has held positions in systems development and marketing at the corporate and brand levels, as well as several years as executive assistant to the chairman of the board for Promus. He holds a achelor's degree in mathematics and masters of science degree in applied mathematics from North Carolina State University.
 Promus is the parent company of four leading brand names in the casino and hotel industries: Harrah's, the premier name in casino entertainment, and Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites hotels.
