 the four-mile stretch of the boulevard of mom-and-pop and chain commercial stores is soliciting public input on how the west end of the boulevard should look.

The meetings are part of the city's five- to 10-year plan to revamp the look and parking of the street from Moorpark Road to Duesenberg Drive to make it more user friendly and attractive for visitors.

The city has allocated $51,000 in its 1999-00 budget for the west end's streetscape improvements, and under the city's five-year capital improvement plan has estimated $400,000 for the entire project.

The two-day informal workshop follows an October workshop that focused on a specific plan for the boulevard.

At that meeting, merchants, property owners and residents came up with numerous visions for Thousand Oaks Boulevard that included creating three shopping areas along the boulevard, blending office, commercial and residential uses and having family attractions.

The third and final workshop is expected to focus on parking needs for the east area between Conejo School Road and Duesenberg Drive.

The city hopes to secure some state and federal funds Federal Funds

Funds deposited to regional Federal Reserve Banks by commercial banks, including funds in excess of reserve requirements.

Notes:
These non-interest bearing deposits are lent out at the Fed funds rate to other banks unable to meet overnight reserve
 for the renovation.

Public comment, 5:30-8 p.m. Monday

Boulevard property owners, 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday
