BOSTON TRACK BRACES FOR ARRIVAL OF CIGAR.

Byline: Daily News Staff and Wire Services

Cigar will receive a welcome fit for the king of thoroughbreds when he travels from Belmont Park to Suffolk Downs for Saturday's Massachusetts Handicap.

The Boston-area track has arranged for the 1995 Horse of the Year to have a police escort for the 85-mile van ride from the Connecticut border on Friday.

Despite being assigned a career-high 130 pounds for the 1-1/8-mile race, Cigar is expected to be a 1-9 favorite to repeat his '95 Mass Cap victory and extend his winning streak to 15, one short of Citation's North American North American
