BOSTON TECHNOLOGY SIGNS CONTRACT WITH JAPAN'S DDI; DDI TO USE CO ACCESS TO PROVIDE CELLULAR ENHANCED SERVICES

 WAKEFIELD, Mass., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSTN) today announced that it has signed a contract with DDI Corporation (DDI) of Japan, the second largest cellular telephone service and long distance provider in Japan. DDI will use Boston Technology's CO ACCESS(TM) systems to provide enhanced services, such as call answering and voice messaging, to its affiliated eight cellular operators' customers.
 DDI and its subsidiaries plan to begin offering enhanced services later this year in all eight regions across Japan. Boston Technology shipped its new CO ACCESS 600 system to DDI in the second quarter of this year. The system will be integrated with a CCS No.7 signaling network to enable DDI and its subsidiaries to provide powerful and sophisticated signaling capabilities in conjunction with its enhanced services offerings.
 "DDI is known to be a particularly enterpreneurial and fast-paced company in Japan and we are very pleased to be working in a partnership with them," commented Paul DeLacey, general manager of Boston Technology International. "This will be our second implementation of CCS No.7 in Japan, a country with highly sophisticated telephone users. We have been very impressed with the technical sophistication of the Japanese cellular users and their readiness for new telephone services."

 DDI is a major shareholder of a group of eight cellular operators, known as the DDI Cellular Group. The group is one of three cellular operator groups currently in service in Japan and serves eight of the ten Japanese service territories. DDI also provides long distance telephone service, leased line service and customer premises system terminal equipment.
