BOSTON GLOBE TO PUBLISH SUNDAY ZONED SECTION FOR BOSTON, BROOKLINE, CAMBRIDGE AND SOMERVILLE

BOSTON GLOBE TO PUBLISH SUNDAY ZONED SECTION FOR BOSTON,
 BROOKLINE, CAMBRIDGE AND SOMERVILLE
BOSTON, May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boston Globe has announced that it will publish a special weekly zoned section for the communities of Boston, Brookline, Cambridge and Somerville.
It will appear as part of the Boston Sunday Globe, beginning Oct. 4.
The publication of a central-area weekly section completes a Globe zoning program begun in 1987 with New Hampshire Weekly, a Sunday section exclusively for the Granite State.
In 1989 and 1990, the Globe established four more zoned sections for metro Boston: South Weekly (covering 43 cities and towns); West Weekly (30); Northwest Weekly (25), and North Weekly (37), all published as part of the Sunday Globe. Together, these four sections cover 135 cities and towns in metro Boston.
The new central weekly section, serving the Globe's urban core readership, will begin with a circulation of 150,000. The section will focus on neighborhood news, people and trends, with attention to local arts, entertainment and the diverse neighborhood cultural life of the four communities.
Elements scheduled to be included are an advice column on making the most of urban life, a column on public transportation and getting around, and a column on campus life for the area's thousands of college students, as well as listings of community meetings and cultural events.
