BOROUGH ROLLS OUT FUN FOR ALL TO CELEBRATE LAUNCH OF SKATE PARK.


A NEW skate park is to open next week as part of a pounds 60m regeneration project in North Tyneside North Tyneside is a metropolitan borough of Tyne and Wear in the North East of England. Its seat is at the Town Hall, Wallsend.

Created in 1974, the borough lies within the historic county boundaries of Northumberland.

The new facility - in the Panama Dip on the site of the former Panama Cafe on The Links, Whitley Bay Whitley Bay, town (1991 pop. 36,040), North Tyneside metropolitan district, NE England, on the North Sea. Formerly the urban district of Whitley and Monkseaton, Whitley Bay was chartered as a municipal borough in 1954.  - opens on Monday.

, who is opening the facility, said: "This will be a great occasion for Whitley Bay and the wider borough. Both residents and our young people have told us that providing additional facilities and activities for our youngsters is a top priority."

"The skate park demonstrates what we can achieve by working together with our communities. The young people have worked extremely hard in designing this facility so this is an important milestone for us in handing it back to them to use and enjoy in the future."

The official launch will take place from 11am to 3pm.

People from across the borough will be able to join in a range of activities including circus skills Circus skills are a group of pursuits that were traditionally used as a form of entertainment in circus, sideshow, busking or variety/vaudeville/music hall shows. While most circus skills are still being performed today, many are practiced by non-performers as a hobby.  training by Let's Circus, magic and face painting.

A range of displays will update visitors on all regeneration projects across the borough.
