Darren Green (9-3) went the distance for the Bobcats (15-12), allowing all four runs in the seventh before striking out Christian Burkhardt with the tying run on third to end the game.

Green avoided trouble until the seventh. In the first six innings, Grace Brethren (18-8) stranded eight baserunners.

--Whittier Christian 2, L.A. Baptist 1: The unseeded and unranked Heralds (17-12), who entered the playoffs as a wild card and beat top-seeded Woodcrest Christian, continued their winning ways by upsetting the host Knights of North Hills (22-6 and ranked fifth) in a semifinal at Mission Hills Little League.

L.A. Baptist's Andrew Petersen Andrew Nicholas Petersen (March 10, 1870 - September 28, 1952) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born near Thisted, Denmark, Petersen immigrated to the United States in 1873 with his parents, who settled in Boston, Massachusetts. He moved to New York City in 1879.
 (6-1) struck out four and walked one in a complete-game eight-hitter. Petersen also carried his team offensively, going 3 for 3 with an RBI.

Petersen almost scored in the fifth but was thrown out from the warning track in center field by Whittier Christian's Anthony Ruiz, ending an L.A. Baptist rally. The Knights squandered squan·der
