BORDEAUX OPERA BALLET PLANS THREE-MONTH U.S. TOUR.PARIS--The Bordeaux Opera Ballet, one of France's oldest and most prestigious classical dance companies, will celebrate the start of the millennium with a three-month American tour. The company's forty-six dancers, under the artistic direction of Charles Jude, will kick off the visit with a January 12 performance in Annapolis, Maryland, and wind up the trip with a show on April 2 in Greenvale, New York Greenvale is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Nassau County, New York on the North Shore of Long Island. As of the United States 2000 Census, the CDP population was 2,231. It is part of both the Roslyn and North Shore School Districts. . [See Performance Calendar, page 20. Having visited Japan and Italy in the past two years, the company is accustomed to being on the road, yet the three-month American tour--which takes BOB from New Jersey to California to Kansas and Texas--is definitely a more ambitious undertaking. Despite the rigorous traveling schedule, Jude says, "We are looking forward to this new opportunity to share our art, meet new audiences, and see their reactions."
