) today announced results for the third quarter and first nine months ended October 28, 1995.

Excluding the one-time charge, net income for the nine-month period of fiscal 1996 increased 27% to $3,222,000, or $.19 per share from $2,540,000, or $.15 per share in the year-earlier period. Including the charge, the Company reported net income of $1,397,000, or $.08 per share, for the nine months ended October 28, 1995.

All share and per share figures have been adjusted to reflect the two-for-one split effected as a 100% stock dividend in September 1994.

Comparable store sales for the quarter were down 1.0% for superstores and 2.6% for all stores. Superstores accounted for 78% of retail store sales, up from 65% for the third quarter of last year.
