BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS.

We associate Abrams books with beautifully produced art subjects aimed at adult readers. But, as the following new titles indicate, this publishing house also uses the same care in offerings for younger audiences. They enlist the talents of artists like Mariscal and Sutherland whose work is usually other than book illustration. Art teachers should be on the lookout for in search of; looking for.

We all tend to take much of what surrounds us for granted. It takes a self-generated fantasy involving the earth (Senor Mundo) and Mars to remind a bored Lizzie of the vast vitality of the life around her. The active cartoonish images fill the doublepage scenes with adventures that include a less than happy Mars landing A Mars landing is when a spacecraft lands on the surface of Mars. There have been many Mars landings, all of which as of 2007 have been unmanned.
