Holiday stories abound during the winter season, and many of them involve guests coming to family get-togethers. In "The Chanukah Guest," a particularly unusual guest, Old Bear, is awakened a·wak·en

 Brayna's home, where Bubba is making her best potato latkes for a visit from the rabbi rabbi [Heb.,=my master; my teacher], the title of a Jewish spiritual leader. The role of the rabbi has undergone a number of transformations. In the Talmudic period, rabbis were primarily teachers and interpreters of the Torah. .

 have gotten so bad that she doesn't realize Old Bear is not the rabbi.

What happens during their "visit" is both fun to watch, with beautifully detailed pictures, as well as to hear, with funny word play between Bubba and Old Bear.

When the rabbi finally arrives and they all figure out what had happened, Bubba is glad she shared her latkes with such an appreciative guest. Her generosity and humor humor, according to ancient theory, any of four bodily fluids that determined man's health and temperament. Hippocrates postulated that an imbalance among the humors (blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bile) resulted in pain and disease, and that good health was  represent the kind of holiday spirit that we all hope to experience during this time of the year.
