LOW-cost airline Flybe has launched its first flights from Birmingham to Berne, the gateway to the Swiss Alps The Swiss Alps are the central portion of the Alps mountain range that lies within Switzerland.

The new service, which flies twice weekly, is in addition to existing flights to Chambery, Geneva Geneva, canton and city, Switzerland

It's a new route aimed particularly at skiers because the Swiss capital is just a 30-minute drive from the Alps.
And it offers winter-sports enthusiasts easy access to six resorts in the Jungfrau region of the Bernese Oberland. To celebrate the start of the ski season, Flybe has also teamed up with the Ski Club of Great Britain The Ski Club of Great Britain is the UK's leading snowsports club, founded on May 6, 1903. Those travelling on their winter routes will enjoy one free day's skiing with a Ski Club of Great Britain representative.

Meanwhile, Flybe launches its five-million-seat January Sale tomorrow.
There'll be reduced fares on flights to a range of exciting European and domestic destinations from Birmingham International, including great reductions on ski routes.
