Barnes & Noble Young Readers group to meet

The Young Readers group will meet at 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at Barnes & Noble, 1163 Valley River Drive, to find out what happens when a fantasy game leads to strange, unexplainable happenings in the book, ``Egypt Game'' by Zilpha Keatley Snyder.

Readers should note there has been a change in the original date and time.

The book group is free, and new members are welcome.

Eugene writer selected by Hubbard Awards panel

Author Blake Hutchins of Eugene will be honored as a ``writer of the future'' at the 22nd annual L. Ron Hubbard Noun 1. L. Ron Hubbard - a United States writer of science fiction and founder of Scientology (1911-1986)
Hubbard
 Achievement Awards, to be held in Hollywood, Calif., this month.

Hutchins' work was selected by a panel of leading authors of science fiction and fantasy.
