A JUDGE last night ordered that convicted Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh Timothy James McVeigh (aka Oklahoma City bomber April 23, 1968 – June 11, 2001), was a former American soldier who was convicted of eleven federal offenses and ultimately executed as a result of his role on the April 19, 1995, Oklahoma City bombing.  must be executed on Monday.

His lawyers were shocked by the ruling and immediately launched an appeal.

Federal Judge Richard Matsch rejected McVeigh's defence's contention that the government tried to "defraud" the court by withholding more than 4,400 pages of FBI documents.

He said: "I find there is no good cause to delay the execution."

Matsch, who presided over the original trial, said: "Whatever in time may be disclosed about the possible actions of others it will not change the fact that Timothy McVeigh was the instrument of death and destruction."

McVeigh was found guilty of planting the bomb that killed 168 people and injured 500 more at the Alfred P Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. He has boasted that he carried out the attack by himself.
