BOMB SQUAD CLOSES FREEWAY, EVACUATES AREA OF HOLLYWOOD.

, said the bomb squad was called out about 6 p.m. to the 5600 block of Sunset Boulevard Sunset Boulevard is a street in the western part of Los Angeles County, California, that stretches from Figueroa Street in downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Coast Highway at the Pacific Ocean in the Pacific Palisades.  near the Hollywood Freeway to to check out a suspicious blue box with a timer and wires hanging out.

When the vials with liquid were detected, the area was evacuated.

The Sunset exit off the freeway was closed.

A bomb squad robot was employed in the operation and eventually was used to put the vials in a container for analysis later.

``The device has been rendered safe,'' Lee said shortly before midnight.
