LANCASTER - A Lancaster couple was in custody Friday after the discovery of a pipe bomb that caused authorities to close the southbound Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley.  lanes for hours.

 officer who pulled over the vehicle said the driver carried no identification, so he had him get out of the car and ultimately found out the man was wanted on a drug warrant.

When the officer went to talk to the passenger, he said he saw evidence of drug use, searched the vehicle and found the bomb under the seat.

David Kevin Peters, 39, and Delilah Sheree Clarino, 41, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a destructive device and were jailed in lieu of $1 million bail each.
