BOLSHOI HEADS TO L.A. IN Y2K.


Byline: - Reed Johnson Reed Cameron Johnson (born December 8, 1976 in Riverside, California) is an outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays of the American League East division of Major League Baseball. He weighs 180 lb (82 kg) and is 5'10" tall.  

The Bolshoi Ballet will perform its new production of ``Don Quixote'' and its original, time-honored ``Romeo and Juliet'' next year at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is one of the halls in the Los Angeles Music Center (which is one of the three largest performing arts centers in the United States). The Music Center's other halls include the Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. .

The 140-member Russian company, currently celebrating its 223rd season, will visit Los Angeles during the week of June 19, 2000, as part of a four-city U.S. tour that will take it to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the name by which it is known, (or, as named on the building itself, the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts but, locally called the The Kennedy Center  in Washington, D.C., the Paramount Theatre in Seattle and the Orange County Performing Arts Center The Orange County Performing Arts Center is a performing arts complex located in Costa Mesa, California. It is the home of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Opera Pacific, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and the Pacific Chorale.  in Costa Mesa.

This will be the Bolshoi's first nationwide U.S. tour in more than a decade.

``The Bolshoi's influence and reputation expanded ballet's worldwide audience, and through their excellence the entire world has come to know and love this incredible art form,'' said Andrea Van de Kamp, chairman and chief executive officer of the Music Center, which comprises the Dorothy Chandler, the Ahmanson Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum The Mark Taper Forum is a small thrust stage with 745 seats at the Los Angeles Music Center built by Welton Beckett and Associates. It has presented innovative plays since 1967. The world premiere of Angels In America was produced here. .
