BODY UNDER FLOOR: 2 HELD; Two held over the death of Carol, 47.

TWO people were arrested last night in connection with the death of a woman found buried under the floorboards of her home.

A police spokesman confirmed that a 59-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were detained de·tain

 following the death of mum-of-four Carol Jarvis.

The remains of grandmother Carol, 47, were found after police were called to a flat in Bathgate, West Lothian West Lothian, council area (1993 est. pop. 146,730), 164 sq mi (425 sq km), and former county, S central Scotland. Under the Local Government Act of 1973, West Lothian was divided between the Lothian and Central regions. , by a concerned neighbour on Tuesday evening.

Officers searched the groundfloor flat in Balbardie Crescent throughout the night and discovered Carol's body under floorboards in the early hours of Wednesday.

Carol's distraught children paid a moving tribute to their "unselfish" mum yesterday.

The force's headquarters are in Fettes Avenue, Edinburgh.  last night, Carol's children - Susan, 26, Graham, 25, Kevin, 23, and 18-year-old Kimberley - said: "Mum gave us all old-fashioned love and was loyal to her family to theveryend.

"She gave us everything we could ever have wanted and left herself with nothing.

"She was completely unselfish and all she cared about was making us happy."

"There are so many memories that we have of our mum.

"She always had time for other people and volunteered so much of her time to help others, particularly when she was a Brownie Guide leader.

"She had a youthful outlook on life and loved music - especially DanielO'DonnellandGirls Aloud.

"She was the life and soul of the party and was always dancing and encouraging everyone else to enjoy themselves.

"She was a loving mum and grandmother who will be sorely missed by all her family and friends."

A post-mortem examination was under way to determine the exact cause and time of death.
