MALIBU -- The body of a man believed to be the missing editor of an aviation and technology magazine was found in his car Monday at the bottom of a canyon, police said.

He was a nationally known aviation and space technology expert who has appeared for decades on various TV news programs.

Kuehle said Dornheim's 1997 green Honda Civic The Honda Civic is a compact car manufactured by Honda. It was introduced in July 1972 as a two-door coupe, followed by a three-door hatchback version that September. With the transverse engine placement of its 1169 cc engine and front-wheel drive, like the British Mini, the  was spotted early Monday by a sheriff's aircraft at the bottom of an embankment near the 24500 block of Piuma Road in Malibu.

The car and body were encountered later in the morning by the Malibu Mountain Rescue Team from the Lost Hills sheriff's station.
