BOCA RESEARCH RECEIVES JATE APPROVAL OF V.34 BOCAMODEM.

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 1995--Boca Research, Inc. (NASDAQ:BOCI) announced at the Windows World Japan Trade Show that its V.34 28,800bps BocaModem has been approved by the Japan Approvals Institute for Telecommunications Equipment (JATE).

The JATE-Approved BocaModem joins Boca's growing list of localized, country-specific V.34 28,800bps internationally certified modems for Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway.

The V.34 28,800bps Japanese BocaModem is now available in an external design (Product Code: MV.34JE). The product features a 28,800bps data and 14,400bps fax modem with Group 3 send/receive fax support. With its V.42/MNP2-4 error control and V.42bis/MNP5 data compression, users can achieve maximum throughput of up to 115,200bps -- the highest standard speed available for file transfer applications over analog phone lines. The package comes complete with Japanese fax/data communications software, telephone cable and connectors. The hardware manual is also in Japanese. Boca Research will ship the V.34 Japanese approved modem in July.
