BFI got permission to build from the state waste board in May. The company needs its water permit, plus a few minor clearances, before it can break ground - it hopes by the end of the year. Ultimately, BFI wants to join the new city dump with the existing county dump to make one giant landfill capable of holding 90 million tons of trash.
