Mr. Strombelline will be taking over from Jean-Pierre Beck, BNP Paribas' interim Head of Compliance. In addition to Interim Head of Compliance, Mr. Beck has served in various positions of responsibility, the latest being Head of Assets and Liabilities management for North America Mr. Beck, who has been with the firm for 39 years both in France and in the US, plans to retire after a transitional period.

Mr. Strombelline brings over 25 years of experience to BNP Paribas in the fixed income, equities, derivatives, capital markets and banking sectors. "Stephen's wide-range of experience and proven track record in this most critical of functions will be of enormous value to BNP Paribas," stated Everett Schenk, BNP Paribas' Head of Territory - North America. Mr. Strombelline joins BNP Paribas from Barclays Capital Inc. in New York where he had been the Director of Compliance for the Americas since 1999. Prior to Barclays, he spent three years at BT Alex Brown Inc. as Head of Equity Capital Markets, Derivatives and Investment Banking Compliance, as well as Deputy Director of Compliance. From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Strombelline was Vice President, Compliance Review and Regulatory Relations Unit, at Salomon Brothers Inc.
