BMR students receive AP Scholar recognition.


Thirteen students at Blackstone-Millville Regional High School have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on Advanced Placement exams


    Advanced Placement examinations are taken each May by students at participating Canadian, American, and international educational institutions. The tests are the culmination of year-long AP courses.

    The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students' performance on AP exams.

     and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams. About 18 percent of the 1.6 million students worldwide who took AP exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.

    American virologist who was one of the first to identify the virus that causes AIDS and to develop a test for it.
     and Cody Harrop - qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

    One student, Veronica Ariel, qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. To pay or to accept and pay, or, where a credit so engages, to purchase or discount a draft complying with the terms of the draft.  Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

    Nine students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are Araba Amonu, Daniel Ariel, Ariana Bevilacqua, Kathryn Buckley, Melissa Keene, Eric Matejka, Hannah Moriggi, Lindsay Poirier and Stephanie Robin.

    Of this year's award recipients at BMR, six are seniors: Daniel Ariel, Ariana Bevilacqua, Kathryn Buckley, Eric Matejka, Lindsay Poirier and Stephanie Robin. These students have one more year in which to complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.
