BMK Purchases APRIVA's Mobile Store Solution to Improve Field Service Performance.

, the leading national provider of general merchandise distribution and services to retailers, announced today that it has signed an agreement with APRIVA(R), a leading developer of wireless applications, to implement the Mobile Store/DSD solution. This hand-held wireless communication service tool is designed to provide BMK's Field Service representatives with real-time information on product availability and product authorizations while at the same time ensuring optimum service frequency. With this enhanced technology, BMK expects to provide better service to its customers and vendors through increased fulfillment rates and product turns.

BMK and APRIVA are developing a customized version of APRIVA's Mobile Store solution based on BMK's distribution model. "We worked closely with BMK's Field Service team to identify key features and functionality aimed at helping them better serve their customers," said Paul Coppinger, President of APRIVA. "With added features such as routing information, store mapping, and instant messaging Exchanging text messages in real time between two or more people logged into a particular instant messaging (IM) service. Instant messaging is more interactive than e-mail because messages are sent immediately, whereas e-mail messages can be queued up in a mail server for seconds or , BMK's Field Service team will now be able to improve its service level and increase sales for its entire customer base."

In addition to improved store-level service, BMK's customers will benefit from BMK's ability to monitor and track orders during the day. Customer orders and store service schedules will now be immediately available. These features will assure consistency in service and the capability to react quickly to customer requests.
