 "Research and Development Associated with Providing Enhancements to the Application of Distributed Simulations Technologies for Tactical Training and Experimentation." The research will leverage a high-level architecture-based distributed simulation environment that has been established and is routinely used by the Navy Warfare Development Command and the U.S. Joint Forces Command Joint Experimentation Directorate for testing and experimentation. This environment is also the basis for the new Navy Distributed Mission Training Program. Work will be performed in Suffolk, Va., and is to be completed in December 2007. Contract funds in the amount of $98,307 will expire expire /ex·pire/ (ek-spi´er)

The Naval Air Systems Command The Naval Air Systems Command, or NAVAIR, is the part of the United States Navy which provides materiel support for naval aircraft and airborne weapon systems, such as guided missiles. NAVAIR was established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy's Bureau of Naval Weapons (BuWeps). , Naval Air Warfare Center The Naval Air Warfare Center was a former U.S. Navy military installation located in Warminster, Pennsylvania and Ivyland, Pennsylvania.

The U.S. Navy purchased the grounds to establish this facility from the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation following its bankruptcy in the
 Training Systems Division, Orlando, Fla., is the contracting activity (N61339-03-C-0013).
