"With PATROL, Deutsche Bank has found a highly professional system for database and application management, which enables us to locate problems at an early stage," said Jorg Wechsler, IT-department of Deutsche Bank. "It helps us to recognize potential problems and prevent them in advance."

Deutsche Bank will integrate PATROL into its existing system management framework to carry out global database and application management for Oracle, DB2/2 and DB2/6000 database systems, as well as its Lotus Notes Messaging and groupware software from IBM Lotus that was introduced in 1989 for OS/2 and later expanded to Windows, Mac, Unix, NetWare, AS/400 and S/390. Wechsler added, "By using only one tool for our network- oriented, heterogeneous, multi-tier environment we are able to monitor and control all our systems. We have permanent and efficient access to all current information which results in greater security and dependability, as well as increased competitiveness. In addition, the ability to integrate PATROL without much effort into our current system management framework is a major factor in reducing costs."

"As PATROL has begun to dominate the domestic application and data management market, it is only natural to see the same kind of momentum happen globally for this highly scalable and robust product suite," said Max Watson, chairman and chief executive officer for BMC Software BMC Software, Inc.
