BMC Executive Joins Vignette Board of Directors; Industry Veteran and Senior Leader of BMC Software Becomes Newest Member of Vignette Board.

Vignette Corp. (Nasdaq:VIGN), the leading provider of integrated content management applications, today announced that Jeff Hawn, senior vice president of BMC Software Inc., has joined its board of directors.

Hawn leads the Products, Marketing and Business Development groups for BMC, a $1.5 billion software company.

Hawn joined BMC Software in July 2000. During his tenure at McKinsey & Company, Hawn served a variety of hardware, software, telecom and IT services firms over the course of nearly 10 years. Before joining McKinsey & Company, he was with First Boston's investment banking group.

Hawn replaces John D. Thornton, a general partner at Austin Ventures.
