IRVINE, Calif. -- The Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  chapter of the Business Marketing Association (SoCal BMA BMA British Medical Association. ) is pleased to announce that Nina Smith, Chief Marketing Officer of Sage Software, will be the guest speaker for its Oct. 11 dinner event. Smith's presentation, "Climbing the B2B Marketing Career Ladder The Career ladder is a metaphor or buzzword used to denote vertical job promotion. In business and human resources management, the ladder typically describes the progression from entry level positions to higher levels of pay, skill, responsibility, or authority. ," will answer pressing questions confronting B2B marketers as they evaluate and advance their careers. Those questions include: How important is industry experience in B2B marketing? Should I specialize in one marketing function? Or, should I try to excel at all different functions to get ahead?

This SoCal BMA dinner meeting will be held Wed., Oct. 11, 2006, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Pacific Club, 4110 MacArthur Boulevard, Newport Beach, CA 92660. Early-bird prices are $38 for BMA members, $48 for non-members and $30 for students through Mon., Oct. 9. Prices are $50, $60 and $35, respectively, thereafter.
