During World War II, he served in the army and also worked as an entertainer. He made his professional stage debut with a group called the Harmaniacs. Where and when? At St David's Hall St David's Hall (Welsh: Neuadd Dewi Sant) is a performing arts and venue in the heart of Cardiff city centre, the capital of Wales. St David's Hall is the National Concert Hall and Conference Centre of Wales. in Cardiff on Wednesday at 2pm. Notice the start time - it's an afternoon show. What is it? It's another of veteran entertainer Stan Stennett's variety shows which cater specifically for the older generation. The show starts early and finishes early so that travel is made that much easier for anyone coming from the areas around Cardiff. He got the idea from Australia where this type of show, catering to a group of people that are largely ignored by pop and theatre shows, has proved a massive success. Since Stan has transported the idea to Cardiff it has proved very popular with older audiences here too. It's a fun afternoon out for grandparents and grandchildren. What should we expect?
